Přesto, že podzimní rýmičky přišly i do Kolína a mnoho dětí nám na klubíku chybělo, s těmi, kteří nebyli nachlazení a přišli, jsme si užili krásné dopoledne. Přivítali jsme se, protáhli, zacvičili a zazpívali. Pak jsme si vytáhli hračky, zase jiné než minule, a také si vyrobili kukuřice k nové básničce:
Jedu jedu po silnici,do města i na vesnici.
A když vjedu na dálnici, vidím samou kukuřici!
Jak shrnula naše teta Andrea, jako bychom s ní byli v její rodné Indianě! Kukuřice se moc povedly, děti se u vyrábění vystřídaly a maminky si daly dobrou kávu a ochutnaly americké zákusky, které pro nás napekla Andrea Morrison. Ta nám také představila česko-americkou kuchařku a připravila pro nás skvělou lekci angličtiny. Naposled jsme opakovali čísla, příště se dáme do učení barev. Snad všichni naši malí kamarádi brzy přemůžou zákeřné bacily a těšíme se na další setkání opět ve středu!

Corn in KidzTown!
Even though fall colds have come to Kolín and many children were missing at this week’s meeting, those who were not sick and able to come enjoyed a very nice morning. We welcomed everyone, stretched and exercised and sang. Then we got out the toys, different than the ones from the week before, and we even made a corn craft to go along with this poem:
Jedu jedu po silnici,do města i na vesnici. I am going, I am going on the road, to the city, to the village.
A když vjedu na dálnici, vidím samou kukuřici! And when I get on the highway, I see only corn!
As our Aunt Andrea said, it’s as if we were with her in her home state of Indiana, where there are lots of cornfields! Our corn crafts turned out well. The children took turns doing the craft and the mothers enjoyed coffee and tasted some American desserts which Andrea Morrison baked for us. She also introduced a Czech-American cookbook (available to purchase) and prepared a great lesson of English. We had our last review of numbers and next week, we will begin a new theme – colors! Perhaps all of our small friends will soon recover from sickness and be able to join us again. We look forward to our next meeting on Wednesday!
